What's New at BR&D Landscape? New for 2008:
  • Vacation Pond Maintenance Service: Available through our Pond Service Division. Call 303-660-5015 and ask for Kelly.
  • Cold Water Bacteria: Not only is it great in early spring and fall for keeping your water balanced, some people are saying it reduces string algae. Use it during warm weeks in the winter, then start it consistently in March along with SAB.
  • EcoShade: Can be added to your water, turning it blue, to create early-season shade, which helps minimize spring string-algae blooms.
  • pondlifestyles.com: Check out www.PondLifestyles.com for lots of information on ponds and a chance to post your own pond pictures.
  • Classes: BR&D is proud to continue offering free pond classes at two local garden centers this season. It’s our ongoing effort to educate you so you get the maximum enjoyment from your pond. Classes are held at Nick’s Garden Center in Aurora from 12:30–2:00 and Arapahoe Acres in Littleton from 3:30- 5:00.

    Schedule:
March 29 - Spring start-up, pond plants and fish

June 14 - Pond ecology, string algae and Water Gardening 101

September 20 - Fall cleaning and winterization, and the pros and cons of winter shutdown.
  • Pond Tunnels: In our earlier ponds, we built shelves to create hiding places for fish, called "fish garages". A new idea is "tunnels" consisting of drain pipe laid on the bottom against a shelf and then concealed with rock and gravel. Please contact us for more information.
  • New Water Garden Partner: Enery Water Gardens for pond plants and fish at: 7601 Indiana Street in Arvada, 303-359-1783.
  • Office Staff: We want to introduce you to our fantastic office staff. Both of these ladies are coming up on one year with our company and we look forward to having them for a long time to come. Kelly Perkins is our Office Manager, and Jodell Graeff is the Office Assistant.
